PEKIN ARCHERS
April newsletter and work party notice
A work party is scheduled for Saturday April 12, starting a 9:00 am. At the membership meeting held on April 5th, the club set some priorities for the next work party. Items not completed during the April 12th work party will be scheduled for a later work party.
Priorities:
1. Inventory 3-D targets.
2. Clean up grounds south of the clubhouse around the 3-D trailer and do clean up on the field range.
3. Move two field targets. At least establish a plan to move the targets.
4. Move benches from play area to the field range.
5. Dispose of used bales that are no longer functional.
6. Prepare the picnic tables for painting
New Business discussed:
Remove gravel from the shooting line on the practice range and replace with concrete. The concrete pad will be 4 foot wide by 94 ft. long and 3.5 inches thick. A line will be painted at the center of the 4ft. wide pad, which will be the shooting line. This project will also include pouring concrete in front of the club house door and the concessions door. This work will require approval from Pekin Park District. The letter will be delivered to the Park District the week of April 7th.
Another shoot has been added to our schedule:
A 900 round target shoot is scheduled for Saturday May 3rd to be shot at the same time as the Heart of Illinois Senior Olympics. Registration is 9:30 am. With a 10:00 am start time. Fee is $10.00.
