The club will host its first shoot of the year on the 3rd and 4th of February. This will be a 20 target 3D shoot at the cost of $5.00. Shooters will have the option of going through the course twice at no additional charge. The setup for this 3D shoot will be on Friday, February 2nd, starting at 3:00pm. Even if you can not make it out till later in the day, please come out and help if you are available.
Because of work schedule changes, volunteers are needed to help register at shoots. If you are willing to work
just one day or more, please e-mail Ken DeSutter at pekinarchers@yahoo.com.
This year at 3D shoots, archers using the yellow (bow hunter) shooting stake (30 yards or less) will be broken into classes of adult male, adult female, male seniors, female seniors, and youths (12 to 14 years old). Unlike last year, adults shooting from this stake must be using a fixed pin sight and a stabilizer no longer than twelve inches in length.
And finally in closing, a life member will be trying to build a target that uses plastic bags as a core. Once built,
the prototype will be used on the practice range for a period of time for a test of durability. Currently, the club spends $1,200.00 a year on bales.
