PEKIN ARCHERS NEWSLETTER

     This is the first newsletter for 2006.  First and foremost, we want to thank Ken and Jane Danner for the fantastic job they did serving the club the last few years.  They continue to be actively involved in helping the club.  Also, a big thank you to Lowell Durst Sr., he has run the concession stand for the last several years. Iron man Lowell will run the concession stand again this year.
     Our first 3D shoot of the year will be on March 4th and 5th.  There will be a work party on Friday March 3rd at 3:00 pm to setup the course for this shoot. We have a new 3D captain this year, Ken Lee. Please show your support by helping out on the work parties whenever you can.
     The first work party for the year will be on Saturday February 18th at 9:00 am. This will be for general range clean up and hopefully to build a few new bow hangers.  There will also be a short special meeting to discuss and vote on the changes made in the club handbook.  These changes update the book to reflect how the club actually operates.  Hope to see you there.
     New this year will be an evening summer league. The league will start on Tuesday July 11th at 6:00pm and will be held on every Tuesday thru August 29th.  .   The course for this league will consist of fourteen field targets. This will keep setup and takedown time to a bare minimum.  And the best part, this league will be free.
    A delegation of members will be attending the Illinois Archery Association convention on February 19th.  At this convention we will find out if the club will be hosting any state shoots this year.
     And a reminder, all shooters including minors must fill out an insurance release form every year.  If you have already signed up for 2006 please check with the club secretary to see if the club has all the forms it needs from your family.  And unfortunately, these forms sometimes are not completely or correctly done when they are filled out at the local archery shops.  Also, when checking on your release form(s), get the new gate combination for 2006.  It will be changed after the March 3D shoot.
    Finally, annual memberships will expire on February 28th.  Please remember to renew your membership if you have not already done so.
